Fun Night is Saturday, March 1st.
Fun Night is coming soon and we need everyone to help with the night. There are many ways to help, either preparing for the Fun Night or helping with the games that night. Please sign up to help so that we do not have to call anyone at home. If you know of any groups that would like to volunteer please have them give me a call at 261-4457 Marcy Jolton.
Your time is what makes this event tons of fun and helps raise money that directly benefits the Calvert Kids!

It's time to think about the Valentines Day Parties. Just a reminder that this year's parties will be held on Valentines Day (Feb 14), the parties will take place at the same times as the fall parties (1:45-2:45) except for second grade, which will be an hour earlier. Please get in contact with your head room parent and/or room parents in your child's class. Have a great time!
When you meet keep in mind that Teacher Appreciation is March 4. The Valentines Day Party can be a great time to take pictures or have the kids make something for their teacher.
Planning Meeting Information:
Kindergarten
The kindergarten room parents will be meeting on Monday, January 28th at 6:30 at Panera Bread at Southpointe Pavilions.
1st Grade
1st grade parents are going to meet at the Mill on Prescott @ 6:00 Thursday, Jan 31st. We thought we would do all three classes together again.
2nd Grade
A few second grade room parents are meeting on Saturday February 2 at The Mill (south) @ 3pm to discuss the Valentine's Day Party and Teacher Appreciation Day.
3rd Grade
We would like to have a 3rd grade room parent NEXT Thursday, January 31st, at 6:30pm at El Toro (48th and Van Dorn) to plan the 3rd grade Valentine's party on February 14th. Due to the small size of 3rd grade and the fact that the afternoon class splits, we would like to have a joint party like we did for the fall party. We'd like to do it similar to the Fall party and have a couple of games and craft. Please RSVP if you can come to the meeting so we reserve a table with enough chairs. Hope to see you there!
4th Grade
The 4th grade room parents will meet at Jackie Miley's house at 6:30 on Wednesday, February 6
5th Grade
The 5th grade homeroom party planners are meeting at Tico's at 6:30 on Wednesday, Jan 30. They can let me know via email @ newcomk@nationwide.com or calling 484-8440 to let me know if they plan to go to the meeting.
If you have any questions please contact Karla Johnson at 483-4331 or Luv2BJohnson@msn.com.

And thank you to Mary Ritchie for everything she did to make picture day a success!
As part of Red Ribbon Week 2007, the students will participate in some special art, music and sports activities during their specialist class times on Friday October 19th. The theme this year is "I've got better things to do than drugs." We would love to have 3-4 parents come help with the activities during EACH grade level time. The times are as follows: Kindergarten: 9:45-10:35; Grade 1: 1-1:50; Grade 2: 1:55-2:45; Grade 3: 11:35-12:25; Grade 4:10:40-11:30; Grade 5: 8:50-9:40. It's bound to be lots of fun!
If you are available to come out to school and help during these times on October 19th, please email Kathy Johnson at <kjohnson@lps.org> or call the office and leave a message (436-1130). THANKS!
