CONFERENCE DINNERS

The PTSO and Calvert Staff would like to thank Sabine and Kelly Knudson for once again providing the Calvert Staff with a fantastic DaVinici's dinner at conferences!  Thanks!

PICTURE DAY

I would like to send out a great big THANK YOU to Sherry Eman, Nancy Marx and Marcy Jolton for the time they spent out at Abbott last week volunteering their time and talents during school pictures.  You ladies made sure the day ran smoothly and your efforts are greatly appreciated by all of the LPS staff and the PTSO.

Red Ribbon Week

As part of Red Ribbon Week 2007, the students will participate in some special art, music and sports activities during their specialist class times on Friday October 19th. The theme this year is "I've got better things to do than drugs." We would love to have 3-4 parents come help with the activities during EACH grade level time. The times are as follows: Kindergarten: 9:45-10:35; Grade 1: 1-1:50; Grade 2: 1:55-2:45; Grade 3: 11:35-12:25; Grade 4:10:40-11:30; Grade 5: 8:50-9:40. It's bound to be lots of fun!

If you are available to come out to school and help during these times on October 19th, please email Kathy Johnson at  <kjohnson@lps.org> or call the office and leave a message (436-1130). THANKS!

Paper Towel Drive

Please bring a roll of paper towels to the PTSO meeting to donate to the school!!  Because there are no sinks in the classrooms at Abbott, teachers are finding that paper towels are just as useful as Kleenex.   

If you do not plan to attend the PTSO meeting but still want to help out just send your roll to school with your student.  To view other items needed by teachers click on the Wish List page on the right hand side bar.  The teachers will really appreciate your donation!

Fall Parties Update

Here is updated information on our upcoming fall parties.  Party times have changed to 1:45-2:45 to insure that students will have ample time to board the buses.   Check back often, as needs and information will be updated as it is received.
